The POSTOST ZINE CLUB creates occasions to explore the relationships between various dreamt and lived alternatives to capitalism, patriarchy, colonialism and nationalism and the dissident heritage of the GDR. We see the material compiled in zines as a tool for engaging with the social, ecological, emotional and political environments in which we find ourselves here and now: in their intersections and continuities, from below and queerly, in solidarity and with sensitivity to different approaches, perceptions and experiences. “Post-Ost” refers to an empowering self-designation of a diverse and global community that is connected by experiences of (post-)socialism. Central topics are the post-/socialism and transformation experiences after the end of the Cold War, migration, racism, anti-Slavism, multi-ethnicity and trans- or anti-nationalism. Reinforcing existing strategies for overcoming Eurocentrism, the series focuses on contributions to post-socialist knowledge formation based on queer*feminist, post-migrant and alter-global artistic research and memory practices. POSTOST is a publication series in the making, initiated by district * school without center, Archive of Gestures and the online archive and nomadic video art platform D’EST.

5:30 pm POSTOST ZINE CLUB I – SINGING MATTER
wild recuperations. material from below: archival matter of socialist extractivism of socialist extractivism

With Elske Rosenfeld, Sonja Hornung, Suza Husse, Ulrike Gerhardt (in German)

wild recuperations. material from below (2019) brings together artistic and political approaches to the archive of the GDR opposition and dissident memory from critical post-socialist, queer*feminist, left-wing, Black, post-migrant and intersectional perspectives. Based on materials from the peace and environmental movement from the archive of the GDR opposition, we want to think together about ecologies that are marked by extraction processes. The rarely told stories of uranium mining, lignite mining, copper mining and land drainage come into focus by radiating documents and wounded landscapes.

7 pm POSTOST ZINE CLUB II – CELEBRATING A GESTURE AND A ZINE
Archive of Gestures: Speaking

With Anna Zett, Elske Rosenfeld, Ink & Ziz (D’EST & Fehras Publishing Practices), Luise Schröder, Suse Weber (in English)

Archive of Gestures is a research platform and archive on the embodiment of protest and revolution. On the occasion of the POSTOST ZINE CLUB, Archive of Gestures is launching the online collage Speaking and the zine Speaking: Statements for the Future (Halle-Neustadt Edition), which was developed collaboratively on the basis of statements, manifestos and demands from actors of the 1989 revolution (from the environmental, women’s and peace movements, gay and lesbian organizations, and work collectives).

8:30 pm POSTOST ZINE CLUB III – LEGEPARTY AND AUDIOVISUAL LEAKS
Postsocialism as a Method. Antigeographies of Collective Desires // D’EST Cycle #2: Hader Halal; Postsocialist Time Slips; The Hometown Sky is as Blue as a Song

With Aziza Kadyri & Kim Bode, Fehras Publishing Practices, Leila Bencharnia, krёlex zentre, Nhá Sán Collective, Omar Gabriel Delnevo, Suza Husse, Ulrike Gerhardt, Vũ T. Thú Ha & Leslie Shih Shu Mah (in English)

The second cycle of the online archive and nomadic video art platform D’EST links anti-colonial and anti-totalitarian socialist worlds of life and imagination from different and sometimes contradictory times and geographies. POSTOST ZINE CLUB invites you to collectively fold, lay out and staple the freshly printed zines that have been created as part of the D’EST chapters by Fehras Publishing Practices, krёlex zentre and Nhà Sàn, as well as the nomadic Ciné Moon Mobile. The collective zine-making is accompanied by culinary and audiovisual leaks for each chapter, including the rarely seen film Shut Up White Boy (2002, 13′).
