Corneous Stories: Cosmetics in Society and Time
** Den Text gibt es der Publikationssprache entsprechend leider nur auf Englisch **
At the initiative of the collaborative platform N*A*I*L*S hacks*facts*fictions the Corneous Stories looked at history through the skin, nails and hair, asking „What do we see if we look at history and society through cosmetics and the labour of beauty?“
The publication Corneous Stories: Cosmetics in Society and Time was prepared by students of the University of Ljubljana. It merges the presentation of the research project and its findings with the international group exhibition Corneous Stories at Škuc Gallery, Ljubljana, and the arts education program accompanying it.
Through interdisciplinary methods of mutually researching cosmetics and beauty labour from the perspectives of history, art, sociology, ethnography, chemistry, cosmetics, and economy, they were introduced to art history analysis, critical contextual analysis of visual culture and everyday practices, various forms of presenting research findings, as well as the basics of journalism and public speaking.
